Stylish, sophisticated, intimate, yet bursting with life, Palma is located on the southern shores of Majorca and the island's capital looks out over the sparkling blue seas of the Mediterranean. The city’s multicultural history is reflected in the wonderful variety of architecture visible throughout Palma. Its masterpiece is the gothic cathedral, built on the site of a mosque which in turn was once a Roman temple. It rises out of the city walls that once marked the edge of the sea. Close to here is the old Arab Quarter, with its maze of narrow streets hiding museums, palaces and beautiful courtyards.

This popular destination offers a diverse and lively holiday choice for couples on a romantic break, small groups and those on a family holiday. Palma is steeped in culture and brimming with shops. However, for those who do wish to experience a beach holiday, why not visit the more traditional beach resort of C'an Pastilla or Palma Nova, where the sands and waters are clean and there is plenty of room to lie back and soak up the sunshine. Playa de Palma beach offers a large expanse of golden sand and plenty of water sport activities, perfect for the more active types.
