Meaning the 'Coast of Silence', the quiet resort of Costa del Silencio is a far cry from a lively holiday to Playa de las Americas. Located on the south coast of Tenerife, close to the airport, Costa del Silencio was one of the island’s first resorts to be specifically developed for tourism. Although it doesn’t have its own beach, a short walk west will lead to the beach of Las Galletas, which attracts local surfers and body borders. Traditionally a small fishing village, Las Galletas has grown due to the rapid expansion of tourism in Costa del Silencio, making it a great place to head to for an evening drink.
A holiday to Costa del Silencio is ideal for those wanting to wind down and top up their tans on the rocky headlands, but if you’re feeling more active and have had enough of lazing in the sunshine, the resort’s centre is filled with shops, bars offering fun nights out and restaurants serving international cuisine.
