Cuban Splendours Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Depart UK - Cuba.

For flight details see pages 184-188. On arrival in Varadero, transfer to Havana and the Havana Libre Hotel, or similar, your base for three nights.

Meals Included: Dinner

Day 2

Havana.

After an information meeting in the morning, enjoy an afternoon tour of Havana to see some of the colonial-style buildings, piazzas and parks. Visit a cigar factory, the Havana Club Rum Museum and stroll past city highlights such as the Plaza de Armas, and the palace of Cuban Arts and Crafts.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3

Havana.

A full day to enjoy Havana. In the evening why not visit and watch the show at the Tropicana Nightclub - an experience not to be missed.

Day 4

Havana - Pinar del Rio.

Morning departure from the hotel to journey to Pinar del Rio and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit Vinales Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and discover underground rivers, caves and pin cushion shaped hills forming the spectacular landscape. Your overnight stay is at the Los Jazmines Hotel in Vinales Valley, or similar.

Day 5

Pinar Del Rio - Las Terrazas - Havana.

Visit to Las Terrazas community to see its artist and artisants. Visit to Buena Vista Coffee house , built on the top of the mountain where you can see the ruins of several French Coffee plantations that were founded in the 19th century. Optional lunch and free time to take a dip in the San Juan River.

Day 6

Havana - Cienfuegos.

Travel to Cienfuegos, en route visiting the Fiesta Campesina historic farm, and the town of Guama. Spend time at the crocodile farm and an Indian Village, which features traditional life-sized sculptures. Continue on to Cienfuegos, where you will stay two nights at the Jagua Hotel or similar.

Day 7

Trinidad.

A full day visit to the UNESCO heritage area of Trinidad, one of the first cities established by the Spanish in 1514. Enjoy a city tour down cobbled streets, passing beautiful colonial buildings. Learn more about the past with a visit to a local museum and La Canchancara, named from a Cuban drink developed by slaves. Spend the afternoon further exploring this fascinating area before returning to Cienfuegos.

Day 8

Cienfuegos - beach resort.

Spend the morning enjoying a sightseeing tour around Cienfuegos, visiting local points of interest including its botanical garden. After lunch return to Varadero.

Day 9-14

Beach resort.

Your time is at leisure to relax and enjoy the beach or explore the area.

Day 15

Beach resort - UK.

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

Please Note: Depending on the number of people taking the tour, it may be in a taxi, mini-van or coach. Due to the popularity of the Cuban Splendours tour it may sometimes be necessary to accommodate guests in an alternative hotel of the same rating to those mentioned in the above itinerary.
