Ocho Rios : Holiday Accommodation

Originally a small fishing village, over the last 20 years Ocho Rios has developed into a thriving tourist destination. In addition to the already well-established old hotels, there is plenty of new accommodation, including hotels, new beach land, apartment blocks, shopping centres and most notably a deep water pier with enough berthing space for three cruise-liners at a time. Because an Ocho Rios holiday is attractive to a huge number of holidaymakers, rarely a day goes by when the streets are not busy with cruise ship visitors.

Set in the lush, beautiful, Parish of Saint Ann on Jamaica’s north coast, there are many parks and nature reserves to be explored in Ocho Rios. The area’s waterfalls are perhaps its most striking feature. While it may owe much of its fame to the 600ft Dunn’s River Falls, where tourists come to climb, take photographs and swim underneath the refreshingly cool water, the resort is also known for its typically Caribbean white sand beaches.
