Lopud : Holiday Accommodation

Lopud is an island lying off the Dalmatian Coast northwest of Dubrovnik. Home to just one village (of the same name) it provides a peaceful retreat amidst picturesque surroundings. Lopud village overlooks a a cove that was once defended by two fortresses and has a large beach. The harbour dates back centuries and is a key part of the sea-faring islanders' heritage. Above the harbour you can still see the Franciscan monastery and the Duke's Palace with its terrace garden lies in a prominent position above the village itself. Inland the countryside is laced with the scent from the citrus plantations and olive groves mingle with vineyards through the valley. Ferries run regularly to Dubrovnik and other areas and island along the coast.
