Orasac is a picturesque village in Southern Croatia, 14 kilometres northwest of the city of Dubrovnik. It boasts a beautiful beach, spring water, ancient olive trees and a sixteenth century Florentine Castle. This ancient Dubrovnik village was founded around 1040AD. In the centre of the town the houses are built very close to each other, as this once was a means of protection from the medieval Neretva pirates. A holiday to Orasac is perfect if you’re looking for some peace and quiet by the sea, close to the town but not in the heart of the city.
