Orebic lies at the base of the St Elias hills and is situated on the southwest coast of Dubrovnik. The town offers a uniquely pure environment. Its untouched nature boasts hundred year-old pines and cypress trees, almond trees, agavas and flowers. Perfect for a beach holiday, Orebic is home to Trstenica beach, known as one of the best beaches in Dubrovnik.  It's wide, sandy and usually not overcrowded. Only 2.5km across the water from Orebic are the stunning caves, coves and beaches of Korcula. This picturesque and sunny town used to be populated by sea captains and sailors and many fascinating documents and articles from its famous seafaring past can be found in the Maritime museum.

On the hills above Orebic you’ll find the Franciscan Monastery, built in 1470 and still dominating the scenery. It also houses a museum. During your holiday to Orebic, you’ll be spoilt by fantastic views from the hills across the sea to the beautiful village of Korcula and the unique beauty of this whole region. Just outside the town are the remains of fortifications dating from centuries ago. The Romans left traces of a villa, tombs, inscriptions and ceramics. By the seventeenth century, Orebic reached its zenith as a maritime centre and in the town and surrounding villages you'll see examples of old houses built by the local sea captains.
