Situated on the north-west coast of Cyprus, Polis, and its port Latchi, offers a get away from it all destination. The great advantage of Polis is its close vicinity to the beautiful Akamas peninsula, a nature reserve are which is, destined to become a National Park, and the renowned Baths of Aphrodite. Α walk along the many nature trails is enhanced by the panoramic view of the bay of Polis, a vista that even the locals never tire of. Polis has a remarkable museum, the Marion - Arsinoe Archaeological Museum, and although the museum isn't large there is a lot of very old pottery, funereal relics and some outstanding examples of gold and silver jewellery that dates back many thousands of years.
The beaches are beautiful and, given the quieter nature of the area, a lot less crowded than those in the busier resorts. For a perfect family package holiday the long wide beaches, that stretch for as far as the eye can see, allows for perfect days of sandcastle building, swimming and, as the sun sets, long romantic walks to one of the many tavernas along the coast that are famous throughout Cyprus for the quality of their seafood.
