Located on the southern Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, next to the resort of Sunny Beach, and 15 miles north of Bourgas with its international airport. Nessebur sits on a sits on a narrow strip of land that connects the town with the mainland. With a history dating back 3000 years, Nessebur is home to some of the best of the coast's nineteenth century wooden architecture and has as a unique collection of medieval churches. A preservation order protects the old quarter as a living museum town, housing the remains of some 40 churches from different periods of history. Becoming a popular resort, at the height of summer the town's narrow cobbled streets can fill with tourists enjoying the many interesting sites.

Nessebar is an ideal location for a beach holiday with the added attraction of fascinating ancient buildings and historical monuments to explore. With a good selection of restaurants serving a host of international and traditional cuisine, cafes and intimate tavernas- whatever your taste, you'll be spoilt for choice, but for an even wider choice the more upbeat resort of Sunny Beach is a short drive away, here you'll find nightclubs and bars aplenty for party animals. Nessebur has two beaches near the old town and the beaches of neighbouring Golden Sands is not far away - the beach here is to die for, and with a promenade packed with shops, bars and restaurants overlooking the wide swathe of Golden Sands there are plenty creature comforts. Not to mention the sports centre with a host of activities for the kids to enjoy.
