introduction to Puerto Rico
Encircled by hills and with a fantastic sunshine record, Puerto Rico is quite something to see, with its whitewashed holiday accommodation clinging to the steep cliff sides. Below, the centre of activity is the wide hoop of sandy beach (man-made with sand from the Sahara), which gently slopes into the sea, making it an ideal haunt for families. To the west of the beach is a marina awash with luxury yachts and almost every imaginable watersport pursuit. There's also minigolf, floodlit tennis and a waterpark. Puerto Rico centre is equipped with great shops, bars and restaurants where most of the late-night entertainment takes place.
