Two terrific beaches known as the long beach (Makris Yialos) and the wide beach (Platis Yialos) make this a natural tourist attraction for beach lovers and great for watersports. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants, ranging from traditional Greek to up-market Italian stretching along the 'strip'. The capital and island hotspot Argostoli is only 2 kms by bus or taxi, or you can even walk. The tranquil hilltop resort of Fanari boasts some breathtaking sea views and lies just north of lively Argostoli which is a handy 2 kms away by car, whilst Lassi is situated just 3 kms down the road.
