The island's main shopping area is situated in Argostoli. Here you will find exclusive ranges of jewellery, ceramics, leather, clothes and shoes. Handmade ceramics, local wine and honey also make great holiday gifts.

Cuisine

Along with many of the Greek Islands, the best way to appreciate the great variety of Greek specialities is by ordering a meze which will consist of small local plates of dips as well as local fish and meat dishes for the whole family to enjoy. Taverna and restaurants offer a wide varierty of local and international cuisine.

Night-life

There is a good selection of bars and night-life in most resorts, but resorts on the island are generally more low-key than some of the larger Greek Islands.
