Portugal - Benegil holidays

introduction to Benegil

This charming fishing village combines genuine Portuguese life with a fantastic choice of beaches and local attractions, so if you fancy doing different things every day, it's ideal.

Its peaceful and picturesque surrounding brims with rolling hills and pine tress. Scattered amongst its rustic setting, Benegil offers a number of mouth-watering fish restaurants serving char-grilled sardines and other fresh fish, together with laid-back bars and cafés, whilst in the centre, you'll find shops and the odd supermarket selling essential provisions and touristy gifts.

When you want to explore, catch a sea-cave cruise or fishing trip, or journey into the beautiful nearby Monchique mountains, covered in forests and orange groves. You'll also find scores of walking paths and walks - perfect for discovering the picturesque scenery. For beach life, there's Praia da Marinha, Albandeira and the lovely cove of Benegil. Beyond the delights of relaxed dining, night-life in Benegil is low-key, so most visitors head into Carvoeiro a short 15 minutes drive or so away. Neighbouring Benegil, Carvoeiro is a bustling town square sprinkled with cafés, bars, restaurants and a selection of touristy shops for hunting out souvenirs.

Journey Times: Airports, Faro - 1 hour 15 minutes approx.
