If you've ever felt the remotest stirring for a life on the water, you really should try one of our Gulet Cruises; the best and most relaxing way to see Turkey in all its splendour.
Gulets are traditional Turkish wooden vessels, about 20 metres long with a main mast. They feature an interior saloon with a radio/cassette stereo system, fully-equipped galley, sundeck, dinghy, snorkels and a windsurf board. Gulets can accommodate up to 12 guests in comfort, sleeping 2 in a double bedded cabin with private shower and wc.
Please note that it is essential you bring the bare necessities, so pack your things in a bag rather than a case, as this will be easier to stow in the cabin. You'll need a pair of shoes or trainers when you go ashore, and a pullover as it can be cool at sea in the evening. Don't forget that you'll need sunglasses, of course, towels and plenty of suncream or sunblock. Do not bring electrical appliances as there are no electric sockets on board.
Itinerary
Day 1
Depart UK for Dalaman and transfer to your gulet in Marmaris. Time to relax, get to know your surroundings and meet your cruising companions. (D)
Day 2
Depart Marmaris for the small resort of Turunc where you'll enjoy lunch. Onto Semizce Bay, an idyllic lagoon surrounded by pine clad mountains for the evening. (B,L,D)
Day 3
Cruise to Aga Limani and drop anchor for lunch and a swim. Onto Manastir Bay which means ancient remains of a submerged monastery. (B,L,D)
Day 4
After breakfast cruise to Kizil Ada where you can spend the time shopping in Olu Deniz, and enjoying a wonderful evening in Fethiye. (B,L,D)
Day 5
Tersane Island (meaning boat yard) is the next stop, which was once inhabited by shipmakers, then mooring for the evening in Tomb Bay. (B,L,D)
Day 6
Cruise to Ekincik for the chance to take an optional boat trip to Dalyan (payable locally) sail past the rock tombs to the ancient city of Kaunos. (B,L,D)
Day 7
Depart Ekincik to Paradise Island, for lunch and then onto Marmaris harbour for the evening. (B,L,D)
Day 8
Transfer to Dalaman Airport for your return flight to the UK or transfer to your chosen hotel for your 7 night stay. (B)
