Holidays
If you’re looking for exciting nightlife, then a package holiday to Calangute will suit you perfectly. You can relax at a beach shack listening to music and the waves crashing on the beach, or head to one of the many bars and clubs in area and dance the night away! Calangute has plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes where you can sample excellent fresh fish and traditional curries from Goa. If you want to go further afield on holiday, Calangute is close to the resort of Candolim, or get a taxi to the weekly market at Anjuna where you can haggle for cheap local crafts, jewellery, incense and spices.
A popular attraction worth visiting near Calangute is the Saint Alex Church with its two towers and a magnificent dome gracing the facade. The inside of the church with its ornate altars is a superb example of the line and beauty of Goa’s architectural style. In 1996, Calangute celebrated the fourth centenary of this parish church. The Kerkar Art Complex is a popular centre for exhibitions of arts and crafts by local artistes. On Thursdays and Fridays, connoisseurs of Indian classical music and dance can enjoy some of the many concerts on offer.
April and May are the warmest months of the year – but throughout all the seasons Goa is sunny and hot, apart from the monsoon season which begins in June. View more Goa holidays.
