Candolim
Holidays
Like the rest of north Goa, Candolim has a constantly warm climate throughout the year, with the rainy season extending from June to October. However, the best time to visit Candolim Beach is from November to February. For a great day out with the kids on your family holiday to Candolim, why not visit to the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary to see the elephants or take a trip to the Dudhsagar waterfalls –a real glimpse of paradise on your Candolim holiday! While at Candolim beach, make sure to pay a visit to the Aguada Fort. The fort was built by the Portuguese way back in 1912 for defence against the Dutch and the Maratha invaders. Along with the fort, the church, lighthouse and the barracks of the Aguada Jail have become major tourist attractions.
For shopaholics there are plenty of local markets, and for night owls there are many charming restaurants and bars on the beachfront. There are a variety of local restaurants offering both Goan and international dishes including a wonderful selection of local seafood. A holiday in Candolim is the perfect opportunity to explore other areas. Why not head to the Goan capital of Panjim which offers an interesting blend of Portuguese stone houses, cobbled lanes and traditional Indian stalls and temples. Browse all our Goa holidays.
