From the Red Fort to the Taj Mahal, enjoy a spellbinding four night tour and relax on the beach in Goa.
On the first day of your tour you’ll fly into central Goa where you’ll have a day and night relaxing in a superior hotel where you’ll be able to enjoy Goa’s lush landscapes and fantastic cuisine. Then an afternoon flight will take you to historic Delhi where you’ll spend the following morning sightseeing. You’ll visit Old and New Delhi, then drive past the Red Fort, once the most opulent fort and palace of the Moghul Empire, and past Humayun’s Tomb.
Once you arrive in the fantastic city of Agra, you’ll visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World; the legendary Taj Mahal. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this beautiful mausoleum in pure white marble is an architectural marvel. Near the gardens of the Taj Mahal stands the 16th-century Mughal monument known as the Red Fort of Agra. This powerful fortress of red sandstone encompasses, within its 2.5-km-long enclosure walls, the imperial city of the Mughal rulers.
In the afternoon you can depart by coach to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri. This is a city built predominantly of red sandstone by the Mughal Emperor, Akbar in the 16th century. It is one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture. You’ll arrive in Jaipur in the evening and following a good night’s sleep and breakfast at the hotel, enjoy another day of sightseeing. An elephant ride up to the entrance to the Amber Fort near Jaipur is a highlight. The Amber Fort is a great example of Rajput architecture. Its construction was started by Maharaja Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by his son Jai Singh I. You will continue on a city tour of Jaipur, visiting the observatory, which although built in the 1700s, still looks futuristic. The City Palace with its museum and the Palace of the Winds concludes your tour of Jaipur.
The next day you’ll be transported back to stunning Goa for a week’s worth of leisure and relaxation at the hotel of your choice. You’ll experience the rich history of the area which includes a blend of colonial Portuguese heritage and local flavor. Goa is the home to famous Hindu temples and shrines and hosts some of the most idyllic white sandy beaches in the world.
