Being responsible for finding the perfect holiday destination to suit three male generations: my dad who in his 60's, my partner in his 30's and my son who was 7. What destination could adequately cater for all their needs? Corfu did.

This was my third visit to Corfu but my first to the resort of Sidari, which I chose as it's one of the largest resorts and on paper seemed to tick all the boxes: sandy beach (which goes on for miles) for my son, nightlife for my Dad and activities for my partner. We dined out every evening as there is a wide range of cuisine to choose from whether you want traditional Greek, English grub, fresh fish dishes or Chinese, and most of the restaurants on the strip back onto the beach so you can sit and eat, drink and relax listening to the sea and watching the sun go down. Sidari at night is bustling and has something for everyone whether you are looking for a quiet drink, live music or to cut some moves on the dance floor.

Corfu is such a green beautiful island and it is so easy to get out and about by car. We drove along the coast visiting all the little coves and taking in the views and calling into many of the resorts on the way: Roda - a little quieter than Sidari has an incredible long sandy beach, Nissaki - a typical Greek village with a pebbly coved beach, Paleokastritsa - probably one of the most scenic spots in Corfu due to the spectacular coastline and bay of deep blue sea, Kassiopi - a charming little fishing village, with a traditional port. I could quite happily holiday in all of them. A visit to Corfu Town is an absolute must; it resembles an Italian city and houses an interesting mixture of old tavernas, new cafes, discos, clubs and shops.

I would highly recommend joining Captain Theo on his boat and BBQ trip from Corfu Town to mainland Greece. This was one of the highlights of our holiday. Theo is absolutely hilarious!
