Aliki : Holiday Accommodation
Kefalonia, the setting for Louis de Bernières’ wonderful novel Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, is an awe-inspiring, rugged and friendly island with some of the best beaches in Greece. Despite the attention drawn to it by the novel it has remained comparatively unaffected by mass tourism. The largest of the Ionian Islands it seems to feel uncrowded even in high season. Though its small sister island is called Ithaca it is thought that Kefalonia itself was the home of the hero Odysseus.
Aliki is set back in the hills above the popular destination of Skala which sits on the coast at the foot of the pine clad mountains. The fabulous Blue Flag beach stretches for three kilometres of sand and shingle heaven complete with sunbeds and umbrellas with friendly bars and tavernas at hand to keep the cold drinks coming and the glorious food available; the beach itself slopes gently into the sea making it ideal for a family holiday. With the golden sand and turquoise sea available to you Aliki offers the best of both worlds. Down the hill for a day of beach fun, with plenty of water sports available as well as a dive centre
