Katelios is an unspoilt and un-commercialised seaside fishing village with sand and shingle beaches. It’s situated 32km from Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. It looks across the water to the nearby island of Zante and over to the Greek mainland and is surrounded by fertile agricultural land and rocky hills. Famous for its fresh seafood, Katelios is also a haven for local wildlife with many of its beaches home to nesting loggerhead turtles. With its delightful rural location, a holiday to Katelios is a must for nature lovers who will enjoy walking through the picturesque landscape, discovering rare plants and birds and the tranquillity of its secluded beaches.

Perhaps not as well developed as the neighbouring resort of Skala, Katelios still has plenty of attractions on offer to those looking for more than just a relaxing beach holiday. Aside from the many excellent local tavernas that specialise in fresh fish and seafood dishes, there are many historical places of interest to explore such as the nearby Mavrata wine estate, Mycenaean tombs and the Sissia Monastery.
