Lixouri : Holiday Accommodation

Lixouri is on the peninsular opposite Kefalonia’s capitol Argostoli and its popular resort of Lassi and this charming town is a great base for dipping into some fantastic local beaches. A laid-back working port, a holiday to Lixouri revolves around the waterfront, dotted with Venetian mansions and modest tavernas. The main square offers more cafes and bars, whilst the narrow streets host enough shops for some good browsing. Although there’s no town beach, a small cove with a stunning sandy beach can be found just a short walk south of Lixouri. While this beach is small it has all the essential facilities you could need, making it a very popular destination for a relaxing beach holiday in Kefalonia.

An unhurried town amid unspoilt countryside on a quiet Greek peninsula; Lixouri is a perfect blend of island tradition and modern comforts. For those of you after a family holiday, build sandcastles with the kids on the gently shelved Lepeda shore or lie undisturbed on Xi beach. Hill hikes to timeless villages and terrific views will satisfy the more active tourist. On the west coast of Lixouri, along a long coastal road, you’ll see roads filled with goats and sheep and the isolated Monastery of Kipoureon, which also offers stunning views of the sea.
