Lourdas : Holiday Accommodation

Lourdas is located at the south coast of Kefalonia, an untouched part of the island where Skala is the only developed resort. Boasting a fabulously long quiet beach with fine silver sand and a little shingle enclosed by a wide bay, Lourdas is one of Kefalonia’s most popular spots for both sun worshippers and fans of water sports.

On the south coast overlooked by Mount Ainos, the sands and pebbles here extend for four kilometers, curling around a bay and brushed by stunning waters. If you’re feeling energetic during your package holiday to Lourdas, there are numerous beach activities available like paragliding and jet-skis, plus a scattering of beach tavernas for those all-important refreshments. It’s a steep walk back to the resort, which centres on a lovely, tree-shaded square lined with tavernas, bars and shops.

At dusk, the easygoing pace quickens thanks to a selection of lively music bars catering for night owls, but things never get wild. And when you fancy an outing or two on your cheap holiday to Lourdas, Kefalonia has many other gems to take in, from the romantic Sission monastery and spectacular Myrtos Beach to Melanissi’s luminous, lake-filled cave.
