One of the three earliest city-states on Rhodes Island, this charming village is nicely perched on top of a fortified hill. As a protective measure in the year 480 BC, Ancient Ialyssos formed a confederation with the other two city states and shifted the capital of the island to where the modern town of Rhodes is located today. Strategically situated about 10 to 15km away from Rhodes Town, a holiday to Ialyssos is a convenient one.
One of the most popular resorts on the island, an Ialyssos holiday is perfect if you are looking for a nice swimming and surfing spot, with excellent tourist facilities. Boasting blue waters, a clean beach, chilled gardens, restaurants, cafeterias, nightclubs and bars, lalyssos is a self-contained resort with much to offer.
