As far as I'm concerned Zante, is the only holiday destination. Not only does it offer great beaches and restaurants, it just has this really special feel about it.

I think all the resorts offer something different.

When I was younger, I wanted to spend my entire holiday in nightclubs and discos, so I found that Laganas was absolutely THE place to be. I confess that as I've got older, I much prefer staying in Tsilivi, which has enough choice of restaurants and bars to keep me happy. In fact one of my favourite seafood restaurants is in Tsilivi, and the prawns, are addictive! It's not just the food though that draws me, I also love the great beach, which comes with the added bonus that most afternoons around 3pm, the most wonderful breeze picks up, keeping me nice and cool.

I enjoy hiring a car and driving around the island, sometimes with no destination in mind - I just drive where my fancy takes me! But no matter where you go, even if you end up lost, there is always a sign saying 'Zakynthos', which is for the town, so head towards that and you'll always get your bearings. One place I always drive to every year is Porto Roxta, a tiny cove with just rocky ledges to swim from. Although it is extremely picturesque, the highlight is enjoying a meal in the taverna as the sun goes down; there is truly no better way to enjoy a late afternoon with friends or family.

Zante has too many beaches to mention, and whilst I'm a sucker for Tsilivi beach, I would recommend a day out to Kalamaki beach, which is very shallow but also great for spotting turtles. The beaches in Vasilikos really do stand out from the crowd, and I love St Nicholas beach, with its really fine sand and seriously clear water, but most of all it has an abundance of watersports, from diving to water-skiing, plus a great restaurant and bar. You really do lose track of time here.

For me Zante offers everything I need from a holiday and at a reasonable price.
