Vasilikos : Holiday Accommodation

Vasilikos is more of an area of in the south Zante rather than an actual village. It is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of the island with some staggeringly beautiful beaches, including Agios Nikolaos and the renowned Banana Beach with its crystal clear waters so you can see the small fish swimming around your feet. With sunbeds and parasols, and a shady beach bar nearby it is the ideal family holiday destination, but be careful to wear sunblock! There are plenty of activities to be had or just lie on the beach and soak up the wonderful views across the Ionian Sea to mainland Greece.

Legend has it that the first inhabitants of Zante were Zakyntos, son of King Dardanos of Troy, and his compatriots. During the Second World War the island refused to hand over the small Jewish community to the Nazis and hid them in rural villages where they stayed until the end of the war. The bravery of the residents has been honoured by Israel. This is a warm and welcoming island that offers up so much to its package holiday visitors.
