I have been to Kenya a few times over the last few years and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. There is something for everyone from beach bums to safari lovers. The beaches are out of this world and the Indian Ocean is as warm as bath water! Even if you just wanted a relaxing beach holiday then I would definitely recommend it. The hotels on the north coast are beautiful and the Kenyan locals are the friendliest people I have ever met, they will do anything for you.

Mombasa town is worth a trip for its amazing shopping for wooden carved animals (which I always end up buying) and traditional Swahili clothes. Many people visit the old town and Fort Jesus, which are great tourist attractions.

I also recommend a local nature park called Haller Park in Bamburi, as it has a wide variety of animals and you can hand feed giraffes and Galapagos tortoises!

Most people travel to Kenya for one thing and that's the safaris. I was lucky enough to jump on a light aircraft and fly past Mount Kilimanjaro for a stay in the Masai Mara - what an amazing experience. We were on the lookout for the big 5 which consists of lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo, all of which are the hardest to find so if you spot them all you are very lucky.

The safari guides gave us a tour to remember with their in-depth knowledge of the national park and its animals.

I was also lucky enough to visit Tsavo East National Park, famous for the 'red elephant' and being the game reserve at the bottom of Mount Kilimanjaro. All were fantastic!

The weather in Kenya is generally lovely all year round but I found that the best time to go for the hottest weather and the least amount of rainfall is December to March, but be warned, it is hot! April, May and June are Kenya's wettest months, with more shorter rains coming in October but it's still always warm and wonderful!

I cannot recommend Kenya enough for an amazing and unforgettable holiday experience! Jambo!
