2011 News - Holidays - Cosmos launches biggest ever Greece Holidays programme
15 09 2011
Cosmos Holidays has launched its largest ever Greece holidays programme for summer ’12 to offer a far wider and varied range of destinations including completely new islands and resorts adding to the well known mainstream islands it currently offers.
New destinations in the Ionian, Sporades, Dodecanese and the Cyclades groups of islands as well as new resorts on the mainland will be featured. These lesser known and much smaller islands include Paxos, Santorini, Ithaca, Leros, Kalymnos, Telendos, Symi, Skopelos, Alonissos, Meganissi and on the mainland, the resort of Sivota.
Basing the new programme on its existing flights schedule to Crete, Rhodes, Zante, Corfu, Preveza, Kefalonia and Skiathos, Cosmos’ newly featured islands are connected by boat transfers so a wide range of single and twin options are now available. Cosmos has made the programme totally flexible, a new concept for the operator and can therefore offer the option of tailor-made holidays. Holiday options can now be reversed in order, different hotels or accommodation or even a different island combination or duration can be selected which can all be different to those which are brochured.
Over seventy new properties are now available for summer 2012 holidays in 20 different destinations with a broad and varied choice of hotels and apartments including traditional style Greek units as well as high spec boutique units to cater for all ages, tastes and interests. Board bases range from self catering to all inclusive plus villas with pools.
For example, twin centre holiday options include a week on the lively island of Kos combined with the more tranquil and charming neigbouring islands of Kalymnos, Leros or Telendos. Customers can also fly into Rhodes and stay for a week before transferring to the quieter island of Symi.
The flying programme to Greece has been increased significantly with new flights from Birmingham now available to Chania, Kefalonia, Preveza and Rhodes. New regional departures have been added including Newcastle to both Corfu and Zante as well as Bristol to Crete. This is in addition to the existing programme from Gatwick, Manchester and Luton. Zante and Corfu are featured with flights from all six regional airports.
Early booking offers include £100 low deposit per person and a luggage upgrade to 20kgs for just £1 if booked before 30 November 2011. Free child places and savings of up to £200 per couple based on selected properties subject to availability are on offer for early bookers.
Prices lead in at £289 per person for a seven night stay in Zante. A seven night self catering stay in Patitiri, capital of Alonissos, costs from £499 per person. Villas with pools are available across Corfu, Crete and Skiathos with prices from £365 per person.
Rob Goodwin Head of Product & Commercial commented: “Everyone knows we have a well established mainstream Greek programme having operated holidays there for over 40 years so we are in a good position to extend our programme to the less explored islands. This offers our customers the opportunity to explore the virtually undiscovered Greece such as Telendos where you won’t see a car anywhere on the island. We are offering the flexibility and variety to book their ideal holiday be it a fun-packed family holiday, a get-away from it all break or a combination of both.
He added: “This is good news for agents as by offering more flexibility and competitively priced holidays based on our core flying programme, they can offer their customers great value holidays with a difference.”
