2008 News Archive - Holidays - Abta tips Portugal, Turkey and Egypt for 2008

20 12 2007

Travellers will be inspired to travel to Egypt, Portugal and Turkey in 2008, it has been reported.

According to the Association of British Travel Agents, early bookings suggest that the three holiday destinations will be popular next year, while a weak dollar is also likely to attract tourists to the USA.

Holiday Lettings recently reported that Spain and Italy are likely to remain popular spots for families travelling abroad during the school holidays.

Research from the company also showed that New York was the most popular destination for short city breaks in 2007.

"Travelling is always an inspiring way of spending our free time and with so many exciting events and enticing destinations, our enthusiasm for overseas holidays in 2008 remains high," remarked Justin Fleming, president of Abta.

Abta represents over 1,500 members and was founded in 1950.
