2008 News Archive - Holidays - All-inclusive holidays 'can help people save'

13 01 2009

In the current economic climate booking all-inclusive holidays through a UK tour operator can help tourists save money, according to one expert.

Bob Atkinson, a travel expert from moneysupermarket.com, explained: "With the whole credit crunch, people want to be able to budget. By taking an all inclusive holiday, you are saying 'I bought that holiday and I am going to spend x per person'."

He added that by booking a whole holiday package in advance from a travel agent "you know what it is costing you before you go".

With the pound currently relatively weak against the euro, all-inclusive holidays booked through UK travel agents can help tourists save more as they get rid of the need to exchange large quantities of cash, according to Mr Atkinson.

Recently, an analyst from the Association of Independent Tour Operators said that people in the UK increasingly view holidays as a necessity which they cannot do without, even during the credit crunch.
