2008 News Archive - Holidays - Brits 'miss tea' while on holiday

16 09 2008

Forget about friends and pets, British holidaymakers have named tea as the thing they miss the most when abroad.

In a survey carried out by Holiday Extras, over 65 per cent of people said that they long for a nice cup of tea when on holiday.

Other items commonly missed by holidaymakers include HP sauce, baked beans and Marmite, with 5.9 per cent of people missing Branston Pickle the most.

Mike Whiting, managing editor at Holiday Extra's, commented: " I think that our survey shows the British public's love of its traditional favourites is as strong as ever, they're simply the best. You simply cannot beat a nice cup of tea and a biscuit."

Meanwhile, a separate poll carried out by the company revealed that despite the credit crunch, Brits are still prepared to pay for holidays, with the average person spending between £500 and £1,000 on their annual break in the sun
