2008 News Archive - Holidays - Cairo - a pharaoh way to go

23 10 2007

Brits have been advised that Cairo is the place to be if they want to soak up some of the rich and vibrant history available there.

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, set among the pyramids like a jewel in Tutankhamen's sarcophagus, offers the world's largest collection of the country's artefacts.

And according to the Daily Telegraph, some amazing pieces can be found on display, including the famous mask itself from Tutankhamen, after the body was mummified.

In Cairo, visitors have the opportunity to wander among this ancient history and feel for themselves how the slaves and kings of days long gone must have felt.

This is a very exciting time for those interested in the ancient life of the pharaohs and their golden lives, with experts claiming that the mystery surrounding the boy-king's death having been finally revealed.

The youngster, so scientists say, died in a hunting accident while travelling in a chariot.
