2008 News Archive - Holidays - Croatia expecting bumper year

26 02 2007

Croatia is expecting another great year for tourism after 2006 saw record numbers again visiting this beautiful, unspoilt country.

An enviable coastline on the Adriatic Sea, a comfortable climate and beautiful mountain ranges have all helped this European nation make its mark on the tourist map.

Combining distinctive aspects of Mediterranean life – the endless islands and expansive beaches – with its own unique culture, Croatia has a great range to offer travellers.

The peaks of Croatia enjoy winter snow and vibrant summers, much like the south of France; the coast is better suited in winter for those who perhaps prefer gentle weather instead of the thrills of snow sports.

Well served by several major airports and good transport links with the rest of Europe, the prospect of EU membership is encouraging greater investment in infrastructure and in tourism.

Indeed, according to traveldailynews.com the central European nation plans to invest heavily in road construction, new sea terminals and tourist facilities.

The capital Zagreb is a very popular destination for visitors, with its three sectors balancing historic charm and vibrant youth culture in much the same way as Prague.
