A hotel in Dubai has taken two of the top prizes at the World Travel Awards.
Fighting off competition from hotels across the globe, the Burj Al-Arab hotel in Dubai won the coveted titles of world's leading hotel and world's leading all-suite hotel.
Known as "the Oscars of the travel industry", the awards are voted for by travel professionals and agents from around the world and were given out at a glamorous prize ceremony in the Caribbean islands of Turks & Caicos.
Two other hotels in Dubai also walked away with prizes, a sign of how far the emirate - which regularly attracts winter sun seekers from the UK to its beaches - has come as a tourist destination in recent years.
The landmark Burj al Arab hotel is known as 'the sail' and has become a symbol representing the fast-growing status of the city as a world-class destination.
