2008 News Archive - Holidays - Enjoy a 'free' day out in Florida

19 09 2008

From next year, holidaymakers celebrating their birthday in Florida will be able to enjoy a free day out at Walt Disney World.

From 2009, anyone arriving at the park on their birthday - with a valid form of identification - will be given free entry, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, told the publication that he hoped visitors would make the most of the opportunity.

A full price ticket usually costs around $75 and the offer is also open to Florida locals.

"We not only open up the opportunity, we hope they'll take the opportunity.

"The flip side of that is, nobody celebrates their birthday by themselves. They bring their family, their friends and their kids with them, Mr Rasulo added.

A firm favourite with British holidaymakers, Florida enjoys glorious weather all year round and has something to offer everyone.

Other popular parks in Florida include Bush Gardens, Universal Studios and SeaWorld Orlando.
