2008 News Archive - Holidays - Families 'can mountain bike' in Dominican Republic

02 04 2008

Britons wanting to take family holidays that combine sun, sand and sea for the grown ups and plenty of activities for children should consider a holiday in the Dominican Republic.

According to Principal International, there is a "wealth" of attractions for tourists enjoying holidays in the Dominican Republic, such as Oceanworld - close to Puerto Plata - as well as windsurfing and mountain biking in the north of the island.

"There is no doubt something for everyone here from the honeymooners to sport enthusiasts and plenty for the family too," the company observed.

Meanwhile, Paul Cooper, director of Principal International, claimed that tourism levels are rising "year-on-year" while "more and more people" are opting to take holidays there.

He added that the Dominican Republic is currently "coming to the fore" as a popular family holiday destination.

According to the Dominican Republic, its "spirit and charm" is captured in its food, music and national pastimes.
