2008 News Archive - Holidays - Feathery family fun in Florida

03 07 2007

Florida is well-known as a popular family holiday destination, with it being the home of some of Disney's best-loved characters.

However, one Miami attraction offers visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with a number of multicoloured inhabitants.

Jungle Island is where you will find 1,100 tropical birds and 2,000 species of plants and flowers, making for an excellent family outing while on holiday in Florida.

The attraction also boasts the "best trained bird show" in the whole world, with its Winged Wonders shows held in the Parrot Bowl.

Reptile Giants shows give visitors a chance to take a closer look at some of the most amazing - and dangerous - snakes and other reptiles.

Among the youngest additions to the animal family are Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Pie, two orangutans who are now three years old.

One of the oldest inhabitants is a 19-year-old saltwater crocodile with the name Crocosaurus.
