2008 News Archive - Holidays - Hand luggage restrictions relaxed

12 02 2008

Holidaymakers travelling through Gatwick Airport on connecting flights will now be able to travel with an extra piece of hand luggage, it has been revealed.

According to BAA Gatwick, the new rule is in place as of February 11th and will allow passengers to take more than one item of hand luggage onboard connecting flights subject to approval.

Luggage restrictions have been in place in many UK airports since August 2006 after security scares.

Passengers travelling on connecting flights at the airport's south terminal have been travelling with more than one piece of luggage since January 7th.

For all other flights at BAA Gatwick, the one bag rule per person is still in place but will be relaxed in the near future.
