02 10 2007

Equestrian lovers are in for a treat this winter as a meeting of the fine animals is scheduled to take place in Italy.

A visit to this rich country is worthwhile for the scenery, history and food alone, but horse fans would surely relish the chance to visit Verona's Fiera Cavalli, Whatsonwhen notes.

Celebrating of all things equestrian, Italy's biggest horse fair will wow crowds with show jumping events featuring the sport's best athletes.

Furthermore, riding skills and breed showing are also exhibited, as well as demonstrations from Andalusian horses and riders in traditional Spanish attire.

The event has attracted equine fans and professionals since its launch in 1898 and would surely prove a great attraction to visitors enjoying the delights of northern Italy.

Verona has many attractive buildings and sites, most notably the supposed balcony where Shakespeare's star-crossed lover Juliet was wooed by ill-fated Romeo.
