2008 News Archive - Holidays - Kenyan ballet extravaganza

19 07 2007

If visitors to Kenya fancy a refined form of entertainment after a day of safari and breath-taking scenery, then the Royal Ballet will pander to their needs by providing two spectacular performances in August.

Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi will be the venue for principal dancer Mara Galeazzi and his fellow artists on August 2nd. The troupe will then delight audiences in Mombasa at Fort Jesus on the 4th.

Such magnificent backdrops are likely to instil in any holidaymaker - ballet enthusiast or not - a sense of awe at this dedicated dance discipline.

Other events have already taken place as part of the Kijani Music Festival. Most notably, musical moments in the park were provided by jazz musicians and classical orchestras. Gershwin's Porgy and Bess was also presented to theatre lovers on an outdoor stage.

The Kijani Kenya Trust is non-profit organisation which works with projects and charities concerned with particular problems of the country, such as HIV and Aids.
