The ride, which is based on everyone's favourite cartoon family, has been years in the making and is said to bring the show to life in "entirely new ways".
Visitors to the attraction will visit Springfield and Krustyland - and come face to face with the show's much-loved characters.
Tom Williams, chairman and chief executive of Universal Parks and Resorts, commented: "The Simpsons Ride is Universal at its best: bringing blockbusters to life in entirely new ways
And with its unique sense of humour and enormous popularity, it is the perfect complement to our brand of entertainment."
Other attractions at the Universal Resort include the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster, Jurassic Park River Adventure and the High in the Sky Suess Trolley Train Ride.
