2008 News Archive - Holidays - Rolling Stones to hit Montenegro

23 03 2007

The Rolling Stones have announced that they will play a concert in Montenegro to help celebrate the country's independence.

To take place on July 9th in the idyllic seaside resort of Budva, the concert will be part of the aging band's upcoming European tour.

Mick Jagger said: "We've got a lot of places we haven't been before, which is exciting, and some old favourites and the gigs we did not do on the last tour."

Montenegro separated from Serbia last June, after being allied with the country since 1918.

Located on the Adriatic Sea, Montenegro has recently become a favoured destination for tourists in the know.

The tiny country boasts a series of stunning mountain ranges and beautiful hot weather during the summer months.

Montenegro also has a series of visitor attractions, including the famous Cathedral of Saint Tryphon and Savina Monastery.

And the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, is a world-renowned centre of arts and culture.
