10 08 2007
British stag and hen parties are being held abroad more often than not and over long weekends, it has emerged.
Public relations manager for Confetti Carol Richardson has commented that European destinations are popular with single-sex parties hoping to celebrate the last weekend of freedom before marriage for a friend or relative.
"It's becoming a much bigger thing, so it's now the whole weekend, not just the evening," she remarked.
Party animals want to head somewhere that is cheap and easy to get to, Ms Richardson said. European cities are seeing an influx of Brits intent on partying the weekend away, she added.
Yesterday, it was reported that having a wedding abroad is a simpler and cheaper way to get married. Mark Bell of White Sands Weddings claimed America, the Caribbean and Mauritius are all seeing an invasion of love-struck UK couples intent on swapping vows in sunnier climes due to an increase of cheaper flights and hotels.
