2008 News Archive - Holidays - Tenerife town 'seeks to outshine the rest'

12 12 2008

The town of Arona, on the popular holiday island of Tenerife, has announced the launch of a new tourism campaign, which aims to publicise its winning qualities.

According to the Tenerife News, the campaign will focus on the town's winning combination of friendly, hospitable locals and first-class visitor attractions and activities.

The new campaign was launched by the Mayor of Arona, Jose Alberto Gonzalez Reveron, tourism councillor Angel David Herrera and tourism expert and journalist, Domenec Biosca, alongside representatives of Apesa, the tourist society for Arona.

Mr Biosca said Arona wanted to provide a better quality than other areas and to be known as a particularly friendly place.

Tenerife News recently reported that the island continued to be a hotspot for holidaymakers despite the credit crunch and reported there had been a 2.38 per cent increase in visitor numbers this year.
