2008 News Archive - Holidays - Tourism makes Montenegro more appealing

24 01 2007

Property demand in Montenegro has seen a sharp increase, Dream Croatia has said.

The tourist industry in the area has rapidly grown since the Republic of Montenegro was declared an independent state in June 2006.

Andrea Marston, general manager of Dream Croatia, said despite the recent boom there are still plenty of investment opportunities available in the area.

"Prices in Montenegro are still well below comparative properties in more established markets.

"Montenegro is predicted to have the fastest growing tourism economy in the world over the next ten years. This does mean that a booming tourist sector demands more property for rent, which consequently spurs on the property market," she said.

One area in particular where developers will be looking to take advantage of the market is the Budva Riviera, as its 12.5-kilometre stretch of beach is fast becoming the Montenegrin centre for tourism.

Of these the largest is Becici beach, at 1,950 metres long. Soft, sand leads down to the blue water of the south Adriatic - and a range of amenities including sports facilities at convenience to the beautiful location's qualities.

The continuing tourism and property boom in the country is expected to result in a 10.2 per cent rise in real growth over the next ten years, which is likely to add further to the region's attractions as a holiday destination.
