2008 News Archive - Holidays - Travelling Brits 'pine for their partners'

04 03 2008

Jet setting British business men and women pine for their loved ones when travelling away from home on business, it has been reported.

According to research from Crowne Plaza, three-quarters of business travellers utter the words "I love you" more when travelling than they do at home.

Distance also helps Brits to appreciate their partners more, it has been claimed, as 60 per cent of those surveyed stated that that the further away they are from their loved one the higher the desire to call them.

"Contrary to popular belief, business people seem to be enjoying better relationships with their partners thanks to time spent apart. As our survey indicates, it can be all too easy to take a partner or loved ones for granted when you fall into a domestic routine," commented Chris Hale, spokesperson for Crowne Plaza.

The study revealed that over half of Londoners surveyed learn more about their other half's day on the phone than they would in person.

The Times recently listed Air Canada as the number one airline for business travel.
