travel news - Mauritius Becomes Even Easier
Mauritius becomes even easier
March 19 2007
For those desperately seeking warmer climes in the midst of the winter frost, the sun-gilded island of Mauritius has become even easier to get to.
Virgin has announced that it is offering a new twice-weekly flight from London Gatwick to the island in the Indian Ocean.
From October 29th one will be able to jet off to Mauritius on Mondays and Fridays, with return flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The route will flown by a Boeing 747-400, complete with an Upper Class Suite for those who wish to travel in style.
Mauritius is to play host to 850,000 tourists in 2007, according to the Mauritian Central Statistics Office.
The island is known for its perfect beaches, sunny weather and friendly, laid-back attitude.
In recent years tourism has climbed steadily, boosting the economy and resulting in an improved infrastructure.
And with 98 hotels, many of which boast five-star opulence, Mauritius will always have room for more visitors.
