Celebrate Revolution Day in Cancun
June 22 2007
Cancun is always one of the best cities in the Americas that one can visit, but during Revolution Day on November 20th, it is extra special.
Held in honour of Mexico's revolution in 1910, Revolution Day sees the city's armed forces, emergency services and police turn out in their finest uniforms to put on a show.
Visitors will be astounded at the skill of these men, as they perform such feats as constructing human pyramids and leaping through circles of fire, which they call the "tiger jump".
And, as is customary in all Mexican celebrations, there will be a plethora of music, dancing and food.
The Mexican Revolution, led by Francisco Villa in the north and Emiliano Zapata in the south, was rebelling against the government of Porfirio Diaz.
Cancun is a great place to celebrate this revolution, with its long, pristine beaches and beautiful blue water.
And in all likelihood visitors may run into some American college students eager to party, as it is a favored destination of this demographic.
