More UK flights to Malta

There will be more flights available to the popular package holiday destination of Malta this summer, it has been announced.

Air Malta intends to up the frequency of its flights from Manchester to Malta as of summer 2008, TravelMole reports.

The service will commence on May 1st 2008 and will provide eight weekly flights between Manchester and Malta, with an additional flight taking place on the Friday of each week.

It was recently revealed that Manchester is a top destination for travellers flying from Malta.

According to FHR Travel News, passenger figures for 2007 released by Malta International Airport show that both London Gatwick Airport and Manchester Airport were the hub's top two destinations.

In total Manchester received eight per cent of outbound flight traffic from Malta, while the UK was the overall most popular destination for travel from the island in 2007.
