Korn confirmed for Dubai rock fest

Metal band Korn have confirmed they are to play at the Dubai Desert Rock Festival this spring.

Based at the Al Sahhra resort in Dubai the event began as a three-hour show and five years on has evolved into a two-day festival featuring a selection of local and international rock bands.

According to What's On When, new features for this year's event - which takes place on March 7th and 8th 2008 - includes a suspended Music Cocktail Bar which offers a 360 degree panoramic view from the bar counter.

A DJ and light jockey will also perform live on the bar platform, which is suspended 50 metres in the air.

The Dubai Desert Rock Festival is designed to attract artists and tourists to Dubai for a "dynamic, unique and highly interactive" event.

It is hoped that the festival will cultivate an appreciation for live rock music.
