Dubai to welcome Legoland
Work is afoot to make Dubai package holidays even more attractive to young families with the introduction of Legoland.
To be completed by the end of 2011, Legoland Dubailand - as it will be called - will be the first of the parks to be built outside Europe and North America.
Parents and young children who have visited Legoland in Windsor will have a good idea of what to expect. Merlin Entertainments and the new parks builder Tatweer promise more than 40 rides and attractions at the three million-square foot site.
Announcing the development, Merlin Entertainments chief executive Nick Varney said: Choosing this location for the new Legoland park reflects the fact that Dubai is becoming a major holiday destination, not only for the region, but also for visitors worldwide.
He also claimed that the Legoland brand is recognised the world over as the ultimate destination for young families.
